Our Drill Team Members
We are looking for ladies who want to have a great time and
fellowship with other riders. Ages of current members range from 42 - 64. Members must have their own horse and be
able to get to drill practices and performances. Horses will be taught
drill patterns and drill behavior. Basic manners and good behavior are
required for horses. Horses must be able to stop, turn, and work with
other horses. A calm nature is a must.

Practices
We understand priorities. Family, community, and career
commitments come first. We may have 2-4 practices a month.
Members are not required to be at all practices. Practices will be held in
the arena closest to where the majority of riders are available. Currently
practices are being held in Stephenville and Comanche.
Drills
The drills patterns are not intricate nor hard to learn.
The key to a successful drill is practice and precision. The toughest part
of many drills is walking a straight line across the arena while staying in
perfect alignment with up to 7 other horses!! If you can walk a straight
line - you can do drill!! You just may need some practice to get in
perfect sync with the other riders! We will learn drills for 4-8
horses. That way we can perform at events regardless of how many team
members can attend.
Performances
Typically, we will perform once a month. Usually at
Cowgirl Productions events - others as we have the opportunity. Our
performance area is currently scheduled for Hamilton, San Angelo, Eastland,
Comanche, Brady, and Stephenville.
Equipment
Our goal is to project a polished, professional appearance with
a minimal investment. Cowgirl Productions has provided team members with
their first performance shirt. We have a vendor who has donated a second
shirt. Team members are asked to wear a black felt hat and black
jeans/boots. A plain black saddle pad is the only horse equipment -
available at tack stores from $20-50. The team recently voted to use black
polo wraps for performances as well - under $15 for a set of four. We have flag holders and flags/poles
that you can use. You may choose to purchase your own set ($16 for the
holder, about $20 for the flag and pole).
Our inspiration: I Corinthians 12:12-27
Ladies, read this over when you have time. Thanks for Kandie for bringing
this to my attention. This passage is about one body, many parts. A
great passage that illustrates our team.
